Magda Gejnevall was born in Stockholm, Sweden and moved to Växjö when she was a baby. There she spent her early life until she moved abroad at twenty years old. She studied beauty & health at gymnasium and music production at university. She published her first book in december of 2023 after working on it for fifteen years.
Gejnevall started writing when she was very young but started working on ‘Under our blanket of snow’ when she was twelve. At the age of nineteen she attempted to publish the book in its original language, Swedish, but was subsequently rejected from all publishers and gave up on her dream of becoming an author. She did, however, publish one exact copy of her book which sits at her house in Sweden.
After getting rejected Gejnevall decided to move to South Korea to study language and see what happens. There, she started working as a model to earn money and also learned how to DJ, then working as such until Covid 19. During Covid, Gejnevall considered what she wanted to do with her life as options were limited and her income was scarce. It was at this moment she decided to rewrite the book she wrote in her youth and release it with new knowledge and care. This time she was not going to care about being rejected from book publishers and simply published it herself. A several year work on re-writing the book started and she finished after three years. In december of 2023 she released her book in both Swedish and English (a translation she had personally made) on Apple books and Amazon kindle.
